How To Convert A Fraction Into A Percentage Without A Calculator.

If you don’t have a calculator and you need to convert a fraction into a percentage then you will need to make an equivalent fraction out of 100.

In example 1, you need to convert 11/20 into a percentage. First make an equivaluent fraction out of 100 – so you will have ?/100. To figure out what the numerator is first divide 100 by 20 which gives 5, so the numerator has to be multiplied by 5. This gives 55/100. So the percentage required is 55%.

In example 2, you need to convert 7/25 into a percentage. First make an equivaluent fraction out of 100 – so you will have ?/100. To figure out what the numerator is first divide 100 by 25 which gives 4, so the numerator has to be multiplied by 4. This gives 28/100. So the percentage required is 28%.

In example 3, you need to convert 56/800 into a percentage. First make an equivaluent fraction out of 100 – so you will have ?/100. To figure out what the numerator is first divide 800 by 100 which gives 8, so the numerator has to be divided by 8. This gives 7/100. So the percentage required is 7%.
